Located on the north shore of Lake Travis, a remote boot-shaped projection of land described as a beautiful hideaway lies the Village of Point Venture, TX.  Life here could easily be described as a holiday every day!  This community offers several modern-day amenities that accompany the classic charm from its historic rise.   Residents who call this lovely place home enjoy the serenity of north shore living while others cherish the camaraderie of the village, and young families bring a vibrancy to the community.  On any given day you’ll see neighbors helping each other, and everyone looks forward to gathering in celebration of special events thrown on holidays.

The Point Venture Golf Course is carved out of the rocks and cedar trees that define the Hill Country and offers amazing views of the lake. With tight fairways and small undulated greens, this course can be a challenge for the best players; however, with no water hazards or bunkers, even a beginner can play an enjoyable 9 holes.

The Marina

One of the first fixtures and biggest attractions in the area, the Point Venture Marina is one of the premiere marinas on the entire lake with 163 slips, including additional slips for larger boats and new breakwaters. Though non-property owners used to be able to lease slips, that policy changed as the community grew and slips became more in demand.

The Restaurant

The Gnarly Gar is a popular spot with Lake Travis boaters and Point Venture, TX residents.  This floating restaurant serves standard “lake food” fare and features live music on weekends. The Gnarly Gar is one of the few restaurants still open on the lake and the location still attracts popular musicians that play for large weekend crowds. Aside from the festive atmosphere, the most popular attraction to the restaurant are the giant catfish that’ll eat any leftover food tossed their way.

The Park

The 50-90 acre (depending on lake levels) park in Point Venture has served as a gathering spot for property owners for decades.  On any given weekend and holiday you’ll find families in the park, under the gazebo, and at the scattered picnic tables making memories. Grandparents make a ritual of driving their grandchildren in the golf cart to the fantastic playscape at the park.

The Venture Yacht and Country Club became a family vacation destination in the early 1970s and has grown into a major attraction that remains today.  This community is reminiscent of an idyllic simpler time when folks didn’t have to lock their doors, the night skies were void of light pollution and bright with stars, and children were free to play in the woods and swim in the lake.
